Working on his album for next years release he plans to try to make a difference in the hip hop community by displaying that just cause you make raps about guns and drugs, doesn't mean you can't be a positive role model of the community. His strategy is to be more active in political issues. By working with clean air and water charities events, better education for urban schools and teaching politics to urban voters it seems Shock has his hands full.
"I want to show that all rappers don't just care about money, bitches, and hos." said the 26 year old. "I want to make the world a better place for my daughter and all the other children out there." Going on he talks about the violence in the hood and talks about the error in his old ways.
He started selling crack/cocaine and marijuana at 13 years old on the streets of Hartford while on the run from the laws of juvenile courts. Staying over a friends houses our sleeping outside was his only choices for a place to sleep at night. Trying to make a better life for himself when he turned 18 he was shipped out to the Army. "I loved the Army but I was still a no nonsense ghetto nigga. So they kicked me out for trying to assault a Captain." Shock said laughing.
After the Army he went back to being a stick up kid. Robbing other drug dealers to pay for his bills and pay for his studio time. But he says it was all the stages and life that god had destined for him to become something great. I won't rap to much knowledge because that won't give me the big size audience I want. So I'm not going to sell raps telling people how bad they live, I'll do it with my speech." he goes on to say. No one is going to take you serious rapping about important issues, but if you're famous and you speak about important things then people take notice."
Well we hope to see Shock da World in the near future. His lyrics are extraordinary and with the beats produced by Trackhouse's Justin Graham and Mel Graham and newcomer Snaxz they are sure to make an impact on the game.
